Owner Spotlight
Meet Peter Shaw
Some of my earliest memories was taking care of animals on our family farm. From cattle, pigs, and chickens to working dogs (Blue Heelers), and the cats on duty to catch mice. Plus, being active in 4-H, I worked with many other animals species as well growing up. I decided to enroll in law enforcement, where I spent the next 20 years in many roles, mainly as a lead and supervisory detective, master crime scene evidence investigator, managed computer systems/networks, and specialized in digital evidence recovery from any type of electronic device(phones, PCs, etc). In September 2021 I retired as Sergeant. One thing that amazed me during my time in LE was the intelligence and skill of the police K9s! -firm obedience, profound sniffing detection, tracking ability, and sometime the dog's taking down a suspect. For those that suffer from PTSD as a first responder or veteran, its remarkable to see the healing power and joy a companion animal can give to those in need. My wife and I currently have two Brittany Spaniels (Oakley and Sully) and a tuxedo cat (Screech or just "kitty") that showed up at our house about 7 years ago and she instantly became family. With the comfort of animals always being a part of my life, DapperTails was a perfect fit for creating a mobile grooming experience for all fur children.
